Unique in Austria – at the Wiener Privatklinik all aeromedical examinations are performed in one center.

Wiener Privatklinik, the oldest aeromedical center of Austria, is providing all aeromedical examinations in one center.
According to JAR-FCL, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology has authorised the Aeromedical Center of the Wiener Privatklinik to perform aeromedical examinations for initial examinations and extension examinations for Medical Class I, Class II und Class III.
Pilots with an ATP – licence (airline transport pilot – licence) or a CP – licence (commercial pilot – licence) have to perform the initial examinations in an aeromedical center. At Wiener Privatklinik, these examinations can be completed within a very short time – normally within one morning.
Wiener Privatklinik is operating the aeromedical center in cooperation with the Austrian Aeroclub.
Pilots that are members of the Austrian Aeroclub receive several benefits.

Examination procedure
The following examinations are necessary for the issuing of an aeromedical JAR – certificate:
- Ophthalmologic examination
- ENT-examination
- Pulmoary function test (PFT)
- Small laboratory (lipid status, blood count, …)
- Blood pressure
- Urine
- EEG and lung x-ray if required
You can bring an already existing lung x-ray result with you, if it’s not older than one year.
Validity:
The initial examination of an aeromedical JAR certificate is performed by the AMC (Aeromedical Center). All following examinations are performed by either the AMC or the AME Class I or II.

Which information is necessary?
- Name, postal address, date of birth, place of birth
- Telephone, fax, e-mail (in case of further questions)
- Initial examinations or follow-ups?

What do you need to bring with you for the examination?

- ID to check the identification (mandatory with initial examinations)
- For blood tests, please come on empty stomach
- Flying and medical licence, if available
- For spectacle wearers: for every examination, bring an evidence of the correction values of your lenses (“Brillenpass” or prescription provided by your eye specialist)
- Pre-existing conditions: please bring the medical documents with you, if possible
- Exemption from military service: if you did not serve, it is mandatory to state a reason as to why you were exempted
