GENETIC ANALYSIS

Prof. Dr Krainer is the director of the “Centre of Competence for Genetic Analysis” laboratory approved by the Ministry of Social Security and Generations. Here genetic diagnosis is carried out to determine a predisposition to or carrier status for hereditary breast cancer and colon cancer and supplemented with detailed consultations:
  • Human genetic advising of cancer patients and their relatives with regard to predisposition to cancer
  • Molecular genetic examinations (MLH1, MSH2) in patients with colon cancer and cancer of the womb
  • Molecular genetic examinations (BRCA1, BRCA2) in patients with ovarian cancer and breast cancer
  • Creating tailor-made preventative programmes taking into account genetic risk and cancer risk in general
  • Molecular genetic examinations of tumours of relevance to diagnosis and treatment
  • Psychological advising of cancer patients and patients at high risk of cancer
  • Nutritional advice for cancer patients
